    Default pspx error message

For several days now, when I try to load Paint Shop Pro X I am getting this error message .. Unhandled Exception in InitInstance, code = 110, what= the attempted operation is not valid in the current program state ... When I "repair/ reinstall" it loads ok , but if I close the program down , the same thing happens next time I try to open the program .When I posted this same question in the corel site , I got a reply stating " this is an old version , we do not give tech advice on this . .... nice eh . buy new software or forget it . ! .. any help with this problem would be much appreciated
    Thanx

    Hi Rose,

Did you recently install another application or update any drivers?

Anything you can recall that was changed just before you noticed the problem?

Are you using any programs to track registry changes?

Did you recently change anti-virus programs, anti-spyware, or anti-adware?

Go to Start choose Run type regedit, click on the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then click on the + sign next to Software, then right click on the Corel folder (I'm assuming it's corel because I have version 9 and it was still Jasc so I would have chosen the Jasc folder) choose permissions... Select the user name or group you want to allow access to this program then on lower part of dialog box choose Full control.Repeat last step for each user you want access to the program. Then click OK and close regedit.

    Worth a try!

No guarantees and Always back up registry ie. System Restore point.

All above is assuming using XP. Not familiar with Vista

Or I seem to remember with the older PSP versions sometimes if you use the shortcut created when the program installs errors may turn up later. It goes through the programs installer before it actually opens program.(Believe it checks for changes in the program). You can bypass this by creating a shortcut to the programs .exe file located in its program folder & place it on the desktop.

You might try this before trying my previous suggestion.

Good luck thats all I got hope 1 of them helps or somebody elses suggestion does.
