    Default Resizing batches

I have recently upgraded to PSP X2 from Jasco version 7.
I regularly need to resize batches of images. On vers. 7 the resize dialogue box would open showing the previous resize dimensions which was really useful. Version X2 doesn't seem to do this. Anyone know a way round this please?

I always use Irfanview's batch feature if I don't have Photoshop / Bridge around.

    irfanview.com

it's free and really good for imaging stuff on windows.

    in case it helps. goodluck

I agree that it was more convenient when PSP remembered the last size used. But that only mattered to me because I edit each photo individually. If you're doing a batch, can't you simply set it up resizing to a particular size as a script?

    Hi Raymondo,
Scripting in PSP is rather easy and very helpful. It's great time saver.

How to make a simple resizing script:
    - Open a sample image.
    - Go to Script bar (View > Toolbars > Script)
    - Start script recording (the "ring" button)
    - Pull down "Image > Resize" and define new size in pixel or percent
    - Click the last button in the Script bar and save your scrip under some relevant name (let it be "My Resizer").

How to play the recorded script:
    - Pull tiny arrow on the Script bar and find "My Resizer" in the list.
    - When resizing multiple files, you may want to suppress opening dialogs. Click "Toggle Execution Mode" button in the Script bar.
    - Click "playback" button

    To batch resize-multiple files:
    - Go to "File > Batch Process"
    - Click "Browse" and select files to process
    - Check "Use Script" gadget and select "My Resizer" from the list
    - Choose output format, saving path and naming options
    - Click "Start"

    That's very helpful, Andrei.

I find your explanations very useful. Anyone reading this thread should note that Andrei has an extremely helpful site for PSP users. You can access them with the links at the bottom of his answer posted above. I have referred to Andrei's sites numerous times for help in figuring things out.

    Many thanks Andrei.

That will save me a lot of time.

Edit. One thing I have found doing it this way for resizing is that you can only do a batch of portrait or landscape format together as it doesn't remember "Maintain Aspect Ratio"

That took me an hour to figure out.
