    Default Blurring photo background

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or give me a quick primer on how to further blur the background on a photo? I am fairly new to Paintshop Pro X2. Below is a link to a sample photo: as you can see, tracing around the feathers is going to be tricky.

    Hello,
    - Outline the foreground subject with Freehand Selection tool
    - Press [Ctrl+H] and "soften" the selection by 5-15 px
    - Press [Ctrl+Shift+I] to invert the selection (ie, to select background area)
    - Pull down "Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur" soften the background to your taste
