    Default Ancient and Modern

    Hi everyone,
first of all, Happy Christmas to you all. Two identical line drawings except for the
cloth's!! I prefer the one on the right, modern, I don't know why!!

    All the very best,

Stygg, great drawings. She has such a longing look on her face, and so innocent. I too prefer the one on the right.

Thanks for the comments Bob, my wife asked me if I'd made her up or do I know her, I sat there looking dumb!

Nice job! Maybe we prefer the one on the right, well, because we´re guys?

Your wife is obviously quite intuitive. So, if she's not around right now, why don't you tell us: Did you make her up or do you know her????!!!!!

Nice drawing Stygg. I like both images equally. I think the drawing is generic enough that almost anyone can see a likeness to someone they have known.

Just a suggestion about the nose. It is very rare to see the profile line on both sides. The nostrils may also be smaller.

Hi Bill, I'm not good on noses but what I was trying to depict was a slightly wide, flared nose albeit small and was not sure how to draw it with being front on? If I take one of the profile lines out it doesn't look right somehow. Suggestions!!

Stygg if you have a reference photo you can try making a black and white copy and play around with the contrast. The attached image is a stock photo if a lady with a similar pose to the one in your drawing.

The black and white high contrast image indicates where you can draw lines. The viewer's imagination can fill in missing details.
