    Default Color Fill

I have had Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI for quite some time now but have only used it sparingly using it to retouch photos. I am now trying to make some new Icons for my PPC phone and am trying to change the background color from white to black. I have used the flood fill option with marginal success, it leaving white pixels behind and so close to the image that I'm having a hard time taking them out using the airbrush feature. If I remember correctly I stumbled across a way to lift the image paint the background and than put the image back. But for the life of me I can't remember what it was I did.If anyone could possibly help with this it would be greatly appreciated .....thanx in advance.

    Hello,
    - Select the image subject with the Selection tool
    - Pull down "Selection > Promote Selection to Layer"
    - In the Layers palette, select the Background layer
    - In the Materials palette, make background color black
    - Press [Ctrl+A] keys to select all
    - Press [Delete] key
