    Default Anti-Aliasing - I can't fix the jaggies

    Hi There

Is it just my eyes or my monitor or do I really have jaggies? The quality is set to anti-alias and I have given the circles straight lines as edges. They have jaggies and I cannot get rid of them. I have searched the forum and most of the posts say to set the quality to anti-alias, which it already is or the threads are mostly text related.

    Can someone advise? Many thanks!!

The Xara file is attached - please check to see if you also have jaggies on your PC.

No jaggies on my Dell 24" - I zoomed in to max (25601%) still no jaggies. Though I was going epileptic with those colours

Tks Sledger - the jaggies go away if I zoom in as well, but that does not help me. Do you totally not have any jaggies even at 100%?

I have just installed and re-installed and the problem did not go away, I thought that may help.

Well those are christmassy colours, be careful of the up coming season if you are epileptic.

Nope - no jaggies at 100% for me Barry..

The colours of Christmas may change at a rate in direct relation to the amount of festive spirit one enjoys perhaps?
Maybe paralytic could be more accurate?

I do notice that the screen pitch of the varioust brand/quality LCD monitors I sell can often show some anomolies on one yet not so on another, especially with text (before I install ClearType). Couple this with an optical illusion due to the two colour temperatures it may accentuate the jaggie effect. Try changing the colours to something less Christmassy (calmer) and see if the jaggie effect disppears?

    Hi,
I get no jaggies on 19" lcd at 1280x1024 at any magnification altho the red and green colors are 'busy', but that is to be expected.

Thanks for the help guys, it must be my monitor, a four year old Philips. Pity, that was going to be one of my colour schemes for my Christmas graphics sets.

It is the first time that Xara has let me down, but then again it could be my monitor which is on the old side now, but I dare not go ahead thinking that they are fine, for how will I know?? .... and I cannot change my monitor now although I would love one of those huge flat screens!! (Santa are you listening????)

Just in case you thought I had gone totally nuts with my outrageous colour choice, I have attached some pics of my new work, just so that you can see I am not totally insane. The HO HO HO santa is all done in xara and the others are drawn in Xara and shaded in Paint Shop Pro.
