Default Importing illustrator eps- or ai-files don't work

This problem applies to both Painter IX.5 and X, Mac OS 10.4.11

When acquiring AI or EPS vector grafics into Painter the following happens:

    IX.5 : Dialogbox: "Unknown error -105"
    X. : Nothing...

Have tried: Saving illustrator files (either eps or ai) i AI version 8.0.

Recently I could copy/paste vectors directly into IX.5 - and thus edit them as vectors i Painter, but this nice feature disapeared by upgrading from MacOS 10.3.8.

Dear Colleagues: Do any of you now a solution?

    Kind regards - Mikael

Have you tried saving the file as an Adobe Illustrator 3 file and then using the File>Acquire command to import the paths?

EDIT: just checked and I was able to copy and paste a path from Illustrator CS2 into Painter IX.5, need to have AICB checked in the File Handling preferences of Illy.

Default Importing illustrator eps- or ai-files - the solution

    Dear Thelonious
I can only thank you many times. It works! I can confirm both of your suggestions.

What you experienced applies to conversion of paths between CS2/CS3 and Painter X.5

I thougth I'd tried the AICB-thing before but appearently I must have lost something in the confusion. I can tell you, that one have to mark the AICB-option to paste/copy editable paths between Indesign/Illu as well.

Again. Thanks alot. You have saved me alot of time organizing layer structures first via Photoshop when converting betwenn .ai and .riff.

    Most kind regards from Mikael
