PDF Import

My work demands that I work in AI which is fair enough but I do work at at home in XPro and then export it as PDF back into Illy. One thing I have notice since the introduction of version 3.2 that more and more times you can have shapes that you can fill with any colour that you choose but you can't "ctrl+2" subtract shapes. You then have to go around the the shape Tabbing till you complete the control nodes circular path and sometimes you have to change the shape using the "Shape Editor" so that you can subtract the shape, It is just an annoyance but does anyone else have this problem cos this is a time waster?
