Yes,i know it's a feature of windows but it makes xxpro open much faster.
You can edit the file and close again and it saves the changes
Then when your satisfied with your file save a copy as xar.
When making some objects in a file and you want to use only a few objects,(like i,i make a lot swf objects for flash webdesign)
many people tend to make a complete xar file from which they copy the objects into the current working file.
Or they put it in a clip art folder and update this file.
This way you can use a windows folder as working folder and obtain any file you want.
Might speed up the workflow.

yes I think I see what you mean - for quick changes on the fly - with automatic save on close?
and it does seem to load faster - especially if xara is already open
