    Question Stripes - Recommendations Please...

I want to do/use some stripes (like on Caution Tape or Barber Pole, for many things) and am stuck with which way to do... I can see making rectangles of the Proper color and distribution... then maybe cookie cutting using the shape that I want... but, would like to have a 'Stripe' pattern follow a Path... Using a prepared bitmap or pattern... (I guess a lot of which way to implement will be decided by 'How' I am going to use (say Envelope vs Barber Pole)...

I searched Xara Pro Help -Stripes didn't yeld anything... I vaguely remember a Pix of a Envelope under a lamp on a desk; but could not turn up on XaraOne (still think it's there, I just don't know how to locate) - did turn up a Envelope Template... made me think that properly done a 'Stripe' around the Envelope Outline would yield a Airmail Envelope) . . .

So, Here's Your Chance Oh Great Ones: "Stripe Me" ;-^) Thanks for Thoughts

    Hi Tom,

I think the tutorial you were looking for on the XaraXone is http://www.xaraxone.com/tutorials/nov05/

As for making stripes. In the attached image I created a rectangle then used the skew handles to slant it to the right. I created a brush, but it did not want to work very well around the 'envelope' rectangle. I finally simply created a blend of the skewed rectangles and positioned them around the envelope rectangle. I converted the blends to editable shapes so I could reposition the individual shapes.

I've attached the .xar file for you to examine.

Egg that is very clever using clipview to remove the jaggies at the corners.

It has been a long time since I have seen an air mail envelope. I forgot they have red and blue colours.

    Cheers Bill,

When I was deep sea I received these Air Mail letters. Usually after a six month trip without a single letter, until arriving back in Liverpool ready to pay-off , then you received 60 that had been chasing you around the world! Something to read on the train journey home.

Very different than today were I can communicate instantly across the globe.

    Whoops! I'm going off topic.
