    Default texture effect

I really like this texture effect that is at the bottom of Microsoft's homepage. Any suggestions on how I could create a similiar effect using Xara? I've tried several different xara tools, but can't seem to duplicate it. It kind of reflects clouds. I'm looking to do something with black, white and gray-tones.

Maybe a Fractal Cloud fill with the settings as shown in the first attachment?

Thanks Bill, that's pretty close. I would though like to have a darker blue along the bottom.

Simply make it a darker blue?

Here's another (quickie) take on it, using a few copies of a simple shape, with feathering applied. Again, if you need a darker blue, change the colour of the background?

    xar file attached.

    Hi, BQ,
I inverted my cloud from the Challenge forum,
picked the colour from your posting to change
my gradient fill and chopped the whole thing in half.
It's just a bunch of feathered ellipses with
    various transparencies.

Bill, yours is a near-as-dammitt., and eloquently simple.

Risto, your Microhard version is hilarious.

    Saludos, Bob.

Thank you all for the information. It has been very helpful.

Risto, thank you for your generosity in sharing xar file. I'll study it closely to so I can learn how you created the image. It looks great.

    EDIT.....
Risto, I just noticed that you changed the software company's name. The new links are hilarious.
