I would adjust the shot so the brightest part is barely over-exposed (1-2) and the dark areas within reach (try to keep it greater than -3) then use sucessive copies adusted for the proper level in that part of the picture. Then use transparency or slice and dice to get a better shot. It is better to under expose a digital shot, than over expose. You can grab more out of the shadows, but white is white.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'll try some experimenting with photos in Xara doing graduals, etc. It will be difficult I'm sure...

The free download I will try to.

    Thanks,
    Meia

Joel; I visited your galleries (photo blog) and your photos are stunning!

Did you do P&P with HDR?

    Regardless, the compositions are great!

    Hi Joel,

P&P, or PP as most say...Post Processing. doing finising touches to your photograph within your photo software like Photo Shop, Xara, etc.

I can barely keep up with the latest nicknames i.e. lightroom, post processing, wf, (work flow) CC (critique and critisisms...) etc.

    Sincerely,
    Meia

Ah, post processing, the ampersand threw me ...All the images are processed in the sense that tonal and color adjustments are done, usually from the raw image.

    Joel
