    Default DXF Import in Xara

    Hi,

Just a word to let you know that I have found a way to import dxf files into Xara.

The solution resides in a rather unexpected place: Open Office Draw is able to read this format.

Open Dxf with open office Draw an saveas pdf.

The pdf export produces smooth curves.

    Voila!

    Regards,

OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) is a free suite of office tools like Microsoft office. So there's a word processor, spreadsheet application, database, and a tool called Draw which is equivalent to powerpoint.

Actually, more acurately - the OpenOffice PP equivalent is 'Impress'
    http://www.openoffice.org/product/impress.html

OpenOffice 'Draw' is similar to 'SmartDraw'

    'Draw' http://www.openoffice.org/product/draw.html
    'SmartDraw' http://www.smartdraw.com/

Ahh, thanks Sledger! I was afraid I was going to do something like that, and I almost put a little disclaimer in there. I've never used any part of Office except Word and Excel, so I wasn't entirely sure how that fit in there.
