That is only cause I haven't posted anything in here to lead ya'll astray
I vote for underline, double underline, strike through, double strike through, subscript, superscript, and any other (ugly) font markup options. Choices are good...
not three strikes though - or youre out [so they tell me] .....

Don't use it... If it will slow down the main part of the drawing engine, then you would have a valid reason not to throw it in... but at this stage of the game, I think it should be added.
In my written correspondence, I rarely use underlining.
In my spreadsheets, I constantly use underlining and indentation to indicate the beginning of a new section/list. If I were to do the same type of presentation in Xara, I'd want that feature.
So I suspect that Xara's ommission of underlining is not from some sort of "Come on, people, underlining is SOOOOO yesterday!" attitude, as if they're trying to force us to communicate their way.
And, as others have said, if the practice is so obsolete, why is the functionality present in virtually every other program? (including my text editor!)
.joroho.
Wise men still seek Him.
Even if you don't use it, it takes up space in the UI and adds more complexity.
I rarely use LiveEffects, although last year I did have a project that employed a filter. OTOH, when LiveEffects was added, the XPE processing changed. Now, in XPE I have to wait for reprocessing every time I modify something in another control. That may not be an issue if you're doing a photo here or there. It gets old very fast when you have a folder full of photos to get through. It also feels like this reprocessing time has gotten longer since we got the choice of photo editor.
I truly don't care about time comparison with products from other vendors. I don't use them. I use Xara. And all these additions are slowing it down.
