Default "printer colors" feature... does what ?

+ inquiring xara users want to know :-)

colors in xara documents produced using this feature
are closer to actual printed colors (from local CMYK)
than any other program... but what set of colors is
this using ? It never really specifies "cmyk"... just
printer color... and there is a visible color shift, comparing
    screen color to printer color.

Can anybody explain what color system this is using ?

    thanks

Computer mornitor's display color in RGB color space. Printed colors (CMYK) are printed with dots of transparent ink of cyan magenta yellow and black.

The gamut or number of colors that can be accurately printed via CMYK is considerable less than the gamut of colors that can be displayed in RGB color space.

Printer Colors are an attempt to simulate RGB colors when printed in CMYK.

See Defining Color in Xara Xone Workbook 40.

    ahhh... makes sense now !

and thank you also for the terrific link on xaraxone.

When I look at my misprinted file with "printer color"
I can immediately see -why- those colors printed funny...
I hope this tool gets ported to xaralx soon :-)
