I haven't used Swift 3D (http://www.swift3d.com/) but it's described as being able to model and animate vectors in 3D. Has anyone here tried using it in conjunction with Xara?

It seems, Inkscape outreaches the competition with a new OBJ import extension.

You're able to open a OBJ file, set the shading and the rotation and import it into your vector drawing.

In order to test this extension you need the latest Inkscape build from SVN together with this extension:

It would be nice, if Xara's developers could look into the code of this extension and offer a similiar solution.

I use Swift3D almost every day to take engineering models and produce 2d vector (or bitmap) graphics. I have been slow in getting up to speed on XARA Extrame (I still run home to Corel Draw a lot), but the idea is the same. They have a trial download at www.erain.com
