colors look dull in pdf

Hi, I have brought this subject up before, but when I export a pdf with the same settings from xara and compare it with the same output from photoshop, in acrobat the photoshop one looks much brighter and colors look much closer to the actual image than the one outputed in xara.

If someone can tell me why that would be great, cause I really like to use pdf export in xara

in Photoshop did you export PDF from RGB or CMYK?

from RGB since pdf in photoshop is translated to CMYK

The Xara PDF looks more realistic in terms of how the document will look when printed in CMYK. Getting the blue to be as blue as the example on the left is very difficult.

Blues, violets and blue greens really take it in the shorts (old printer's term) when you convert the colors to CMYK.

I do most of my conversions for my stereogram images in Photoshop and when I have a job with very rich blues and purples and I convert to CMYK in Photoshop it always comes as a shock.

If your printed job looks as good as your Xara PDF, then I would be a happy camper.
