Jaggy line & duplicated layers please help ASAP

Working on a powerpoint for a customer. Has to be finished by tonight uhg!

Everything was going great until i came back from lunch and opened my master slide design in xara pro 3.2. Now I have duplicate layers that wont turn off and can not be deleted as well as all my lines and vectors are all jaggy.

I am loading the file for you guys to see. Does anyone know what has happened or if it can be fixed? I would .. really really .. rather not start from scratch again since i have other charts and the second slide to create.

Well, I was able to select everything, copy it all, paste it into a new page and now the lines and shapes look ok again.

I will of course have to pull everything a part into layers again, well I don't HAVE to do that, but I fell unorganized if I don't =D

I would still like to hear from anyone on whether the file I loaded up has the jaggy lines and funny duplicated layers though.

Hi kriz10,

Don't know if this is the solution, but in 3.2 there was a problem with duplicating layers with photos that was fixed in 3.21.

And the jaggies are simply because you had the view quality slider set to "Normal" not "Anti-aliased".

No, not fixed!

If you open the file the duplicate layers come back. And if you delete them again, close and open... they are back.

I think it is something do to with the background layers - if you delete them, then delete the duplicates (the bottom set), then they don't come back.

One for Xara support.

Can you confirm exactly what build number you created this file in? (Help / About Xara Xtreme)

I also attach a completely new rebuild of your file (Minus the Background Layers)

Does this duplicate the layers when you open it? I can't get it to do so.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I was using version 3.2. Egg.

Now that I have finished the presentation, I actually went and updated to the latest version.

It does seem that if I remove, what I call scrap layers, from the background section in the layers pallete then I can remove the duplicates. Oh how I wish for grouped layers like illustrator.

Gary, you were right about the slider. I must have just been in such a frenzy of work I simply missed the obvious. Guess that can happen when the client requests 17 custom slides at 4 p.m. to be delivered and ready to go by 10 a.m. the next morning. I love Xara!

So anyway, please excuse me if my post sounded a little desperate. I was creating art like a madman and did not have time to slow down and just work through what might be wrong, which is why I asked you guys to look.

So 5 Corona's, 5 lime slices and a lot of hours later I did manage to get it all done to the great satisfaction of the customer.

Did I mention I love Xara?
