Default Where best to find free fonts?

    Hello folks!

I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and look forward to showing off my first half decent attempt to you, with your indulgence, in a few days time.

I have been using Xara for a couple of months, I know as much about drawing as England currently knows about summer sunshine

In fact, my little daughter tends to use for her "projects" (a typical 8 year old with a new project every 5 minutes)

Nevertheless, I have been watching the "You Tube" videos and my wife (almost ) kissed me when she seen my tomatoes from last month's TUT.

Thank you all for your kind assistance, even though you never knew you were (if you get my meaning)

Now to my question, I don't do this sort of thing for a living and wondered if you might recommend some good sites to gather some free fonts, hopefully without porn, pop-ups or viagra Ad's?

Not that I grudge the font makers a living, I'm only but a mere hobbyist, although i will 'fess up to becoming mildly addicted!!

Will I end up losing all my friends?

    Kind regards to you all,

    John

Thumbs up Re: Where best to find free fonts?

http://www.myfonts.com is a site that has fonts, both for free and to purchase. If you click on the "Foundries" link on the front page you can check and see which of the foundries offers free fonts, and go from there.

You have to sign up for an account, and then getting your free fonts is the same as purchasing them, except that when it comes up for payment you don't owe anything and you just get a download link after you've "checked out".

There are a lot of good fonts there. Definitely no porn or Viagra ads (or popups, but I can't say for 100% sure as I have them disabled).
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

Thanks very much, I really ought to be in bed, but first, a wee rummage around some of those font sites...

Thanks to you both for your information - somehow I got the feeling very early on, that I wouldn't be disappointed.

    Kind regards

    John

You can get one free font each month at http://freefont.de/ or you can buy 12,222 of them right now for 49.95 that's in either euros or dollars...if you're using pounds it seems it should be about 25 of them...

One of my favorite font sites is http://www.blambot.com, my only gripe is that the free fonts usually don't include international characters.
