XXP question : Colour Picker question.

not 3.2 (I am a late starter, got XXP just before the upgrade.

and.... whaddid they do with the color picker?

i used to

select an object
drag the color picker outta the color editor and use it to select color from another region of the page.

color being selected would show in the color editor.

when i release, the selected object would be filled with the selected color.

NOW... everything happens except the last. the color editor shows the selected color, but reverts when i release and the selected object changes to a color that is neither the original not the 'picked' color.

any ideas?

Geo does that happen when you close the program and start a new document?

The Color Picker works normally on my machine. The two star shapes used to make the blend on the left had their fill colour set using the Color Editor and the Color Picker to select colours from the clipart photo on the right.

It sometimes misbehaves. I have no idea why.

Ah, but here is something I observed recently. If you sample the same color in RGB and CMYK Color Module modes, the applied fill color may be different.

Are you using CMYK, HSV or RGB? And have you tried the different color modules?

Thanks for that bit of info. This just happened to me and I couldn't figure out why the color was suddenly wrong.
