    Default 3.2.1 updates released

The Xara Xtreme downloads page (www.xara.com/downloads/xtreme/) now provides version 3.2.1 of Xara Xtreme and Xara Xtreme Pro. This is an update on the 11-Jun 3.2 release, including a number of bug-fixes, many of them thanks to posts on this forum. Thanks for all the help and feedback!

The 3.2.1 trials will over-install the 11-Jun versions, and if you’ve already unlocked it will remain unlocked. Just make sure you close all running instances of Xtreme/Pro before installing.

Here’s a summary of the main changes:-

    Updated help
Fix for color palettes disappearing from color line when changing to full screen mode (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...249#post211249)
Fix for problem with OpenType fonts on Windows XP x64 edition
Fix for text tool bug that sometimes caused text to disappear on save/load
Several XPS export fixes (linear, elliptical and circular transparency should now work, please report any problems if you find otherwise)
Fix for layer problems evident when importing the downloadable Photo clipart (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showpost...7&postcount=30)
Fix for crash caused by shift clicking an elliptical fill on a group of objects with different fills
Fix for erroneous “set current attribute” message being shown when feathering a bitmap object
Fix for serious error on changing the fill type of a bitmap filled shape
Fix for guide layers being lost when saving a multi-page document (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...336#post212336)
Fix for wrong aspect ratio on imported multi-page TIFF
Pasting attributes no longer sets current attributes, if ‘make new objects have most recent attributes’ is off
Setting stroke on a line no longer sets current stroke attribute (issue 2 in http://www.talkgraphics.com/showpost...8&postcount=55)

    Thanks

    Neil

Not sure if this is the place to ask the question - but is anyone else who bought the excellent Xara X very recently having problems getting the website to offer the upgrade free?

I've emailed support, but no reply yet. Should I be downloading the trial anyway, or am I to wait for CDs or what? I'm a bit confused.

Here's my usual drone about software quality, company responsiveness, and customer inclusion. See, now this is a company.

I don't mean to be repetetive, but I've been party to some well known sw products in contact and business management space, and their support forums were manned by a couple of straggler vendors who made add-ons to improve the product ( make it what it should have been before it was released in essentially beta form ). In the forum posts, the vendors threw out some "solutions" to usage and bug problems, and when that didn't help, they suggested you buy an add-in. It was formally known that company personnel don't monitor or respond in the forums. How dumb can you get. They viewed the forums as a liability and a cost, rather than an opportunity at public relations, and support. Answer a question once in a forum, and 200 people may be helped by the answer to one. Since the forum was not monitored, no suggestions or bugs were followed-up on, leading to mass customer exodus, "noone is listening to us".

It's extremely refreshing to see a smart, nimble, intelligent, communicative company engaged, and motivated by market response. Just as police use citizens' eyes and ears as an extension of their limited force, you use the users' daily struggles and findings. And then you incorporate those into central product development activity. Common sense to some, but incredulously foreign to many... May you remain part of the few who "get it".

    Thanks for the update.

Steve, thank you for this. However, I have previously followed the steps outlined there and did so again this AM (my time). I get a reported $39 upgrade become a $69 charge on the next page, and so have not proceeded. I did register my product and do successfully log in.

    Any suggestions?

Hmm postage? although 30 bucks is a bit steep.
My upgrade cam from $49 to 65 or something like that
luckily the euro is strong so in euro`s it cams out under just 50
still enough to buy a brandnew game, but still.
be aware, not to become a ware.
