    Default Scaling keeping relative positions

When more than one object is selected and scaled, the absolute positions of the objects change relative to the page. It would be useful to be able to scale without their positions moving (e.g. by holding down Alt or something while dragging). The diagram below shows what I mean.

There are situations, e.g. changing graph sizes when you want the labels to retain their absolute positions relative to the page, and scaling each object separately is time consuming.

    Xhris,
Yes, there's been times I would have liked a function like this in Xara.

    Hi Xhris,

I think that would be a nice change to the current function.

I am a bit confused by your wording.
The relative position remains constant in the current way the resize works, but the absolute position of the object centers changes. The relative distance between the perimeters of the objects remains constant. Proportional to the change in the objects width (diameter in the case of the circle).

The change you appear to desire is for the absolute positon of the centers to remain constant and the relative position between the objects to change. The distance between the perimeters of the objects changes.

Only way I can get that result is by scaling the objects by the same % one at a time.

    hi,

If it's the relative position to each of the objects, use shift and scale

In my haste, I didn't say what I meant. I've edited it now.

And then if we only had CorelDRAW's Ctrl R (repeat last operation) command everything would be ducky.
