Got error when opening a XAR file... The BAK file has the same error (in other line).
Could anyone help me to recover XAR? Very urgent job!

The thumbnails in Explorer show fine which gave me some hope, but unfortunately I had no luck with ExpandXar fixing this file. Couldn't find any other utility on the web either. What a shame.
This is something that the Xara/Magix people might like to work on for their users, a 'File Repair' utility included with XaraXP or as a service to registered uses, sooner or later we all have deal with a corrupt file and sods law will alway dictate that's is an important file
Here is a recovery file provided by Xara

No luck with the xara recovery file either - or trying to open it with earlier versions of xara [sometimes works, perversely]

Here you go, Alex...
One of the text stories in the document was corrupted. I had to manually remove a broken line in the "Create Your Own Salad" bit. Some of the text formatting may need to be tweaked.
I'll pass this document on to someone to find out why it got broken in the first place.

Now that's what I'm talking about.. Way to go GerryI..!

Gerry,
Sorry to post in an old thread but your comment intreaged me, how exactly can a line be removed from a file, could you please explain it, else I've uploaded it incase it is easier to do rather than explain.
Also, I have manage to identify, from the error message and by splitting the file with a program found elsewhere on this forum, as tag 373 or there abouts.
Thanks,
Othrayte.
