I freely admit it. I have been obsessing on the new Vista UI design. In this month's Workbook, I recreate the Minimized buttons on the new Vista Task Bar.

PAUL SÖDERHOLM continues his excellent and informative exploration of the X Pro XPE Levels Tool.

Following Gary's lead with the buttons he used in the workbook. My interpretation of his roll over buttons.

I was redoing the buttons for my wife's website and I wanted to add a glow to the buttons. I came up with a very simple method (by accident of course).

Create your button.

Duplicate the button shape.

Apply an Elliptical fill.

Apply a Flat Saturation transparency.

This works better with some backgrounds better than others and in some cases making a clone of the transparent shape brings out the glow better.
