Wikipedia A mobile or cellular telephone is a long-range, portable electronic device for personal telecommunications over long distances. In addition to the standard voice function of a telephone, current mobile phones can support many additional services such as SMS for text messaging, email, packet switching for access to the Internet, and MMS for sending and receiving photos and video. Most current mobile phones connect to a cellular network of base stations (cell sites), which is in turn interconnected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) (the exception are satellite phones).

Mobile phones are distinct from cordless telephones, which generally operate only within a limited range of a specific base station. Technically, the term mobile phone includes such devices as satellite phones and pre-cellular mobile phones such as those operating via MTS which do not have a cellular network, whereas the related term cell(ular) phone does not. In practice, the two terms are used nearly interchangeably.

Used it a couple of times to get wallpaper image for phone display - but use my trusty old Nikon Coolpix digital camera for anything I want to keep or use elsewhere.

yes I use it a lot.

But I must say that my normal 3.3 megapixel sony DSC-P1 camera (couple of years old) makes crisper photo`s then my sony ericsson K800i.which is also
    3.2 megapixel.

I use it at my work if I made something, always proof how it looked
when I left it (and otherwise I can still photoshop it right , neah just kidding).

But the thing is, you always have it with you, so it is just handy.

Yes, mobile phone cameras aren't as good as their dedicated counterparts - I guess it's because of the lens size issue. Still, as you say it's always to hand.

The cell phone pix I've taken are really crappy, so I just don't bother. For "serious" pix I use a Nikon D-200 (10.2 MP) and for the "quickies" I'd use a cell phone camera for, I've got a Sony DSC-7 (5.1 MP).

I am the same as Paul because i always carry it I have for those impromptu moments and it works. It is as easy to download as a digital camera and the result from a 3 meg. mobile is as good as a 4 year old digital camera if you don't use the zoom. Also what a nice way to share your experiences but with your friends and can you remember the times when you used to go to concerts and were searched for cameras that does not happen any more thank goodness.
