Can't resize jpeg image

I took some photos of my truck to work up some signage and when I open the jpeg image in XPro I can't resize it... there is only one handle at the top right corner of the image but that is all. I can move the image around on the screen but there are no handles to resize it.

What am I doning wrong?

Select the object or picture with the selector tool and make sure the 'show selection bounds handles' button on the context sensitive tool bar is selected.
