I have always thought it a wonderous thing
to have been, wet and viscous, delivered
to the world when, everywhere, it was spring;
sunlight always golden, moonlight silvered.

so brute and pagan seems such a borning
that we might celebrate with must and mead;
dance irregular steps and, drunken, sing
without thought of want, of nothing in need

aside from music and drink and a fresh bed
of flowers, each brand new, wherein to lie;
leafbuds limning the canvas overhead
against the new made, blue and rain-washed sky.

emerge from the long night, dark and dimming.
celebrate the fresh and bright and brimming

I am sorry Sally. I do not understand what it was made you uncomfortable, It was not my intent. I wrote that for for this thread, I also gave it to my sister, whom I feel a great deal of love for. I would not intentionally make her 'uncomfortable' under any circumstances. We were both born in the Spring.

Geo, that is a truly beautiful poem. Makes me almost wish I had been born in the springtime as well! (But I wouldn't give up being a Virgo for anything!)
