All my attempts in Xara 3D6 appear FLAT faced but I see lots of 3D images in the forum showing rounded faces, cubed faces and all sorts of wonderous creations. I'll attach my attempt to create an image like the one in the above post. As you can see it's sort of 3D but very much FLAT front and back.

The Xara 3D6 manual is a bit lacking in how to make really exiting stuff. Is there a good tutorial on-line that shows how to move up to these more elaborate creations?

    Any advice appreciated.

Have you any tips on where to have the lighting on this to suit the background?

If the modified image is that you are after, you may try the following steps:

    1, start 3D6,
2, go to Bevel option, choose "Round faced" on the left, and change "Depth" to 999.

BTW the image in the middle is your original file, on the right is the effect of sphere.
    cheers

I'd been using the bevel slider control, which has a maximum setting of 200! So I had no idea it could be set as high as 999!

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Type 999 into the box.

That is a trick, not a new one but it works.

Hi looked at all your excellent tips and advice (haven't took it all in as yet but will try lol!)

How difficult would it be using the two images below, with the badge ie not being round for example? and also to improve the totaly flat look of the badge?

It's not difficult. Please read this tutorial and try it by yourself.

(PS: Please don't ask "could you do it for me" here.)
