    Hi Lefteris,

I've looked through the registry for Xara Xtreme Pro and cannot find any key that references the Splash Screen. It must be hard coded into the program.

The registry key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XaraXtremePro if you want to look.

    WARNING:
Unless you are comfortable editing the registry, I do not recommend making changes. It is a good idea to back up the registry prior to using regedit or regedt32. It is possible to make your computer unusable by making incorrect edits to the registry.

Maybe he is talking about the registration screen. I really don't know. I love the screen, I am proud to see Xara on there.

I think he's talking about the introductory splash screen, not the registration screen. I guess some people see it as like an advertisement, something obtrusive, I'm not sure. But I do think he's touched quite a nerve, though. There's no need for profanity, however.

There are indeed some programs out there that let you turn off the splash screen. Perhaps if an individual opens and closes the program 5-10 times a day, for whatever reason, he might want to shave off some time by bypassing the splash screen. But I'm not entirely sure that the splash screen is "taking up" time-- does it load in parallel or in series to the program components?

I close and open Xara quite often every day and so far It never annoyed me that I wanted to switch it off. Plus, it only takes 6 seconds from click to start to start up on an empty page. I don't see why you'd want to change the splashscreen just for 6 seconds waiting.

On the other hand, Photoshop CS2 takes 50 seconds here to start up and it shows some 'useful information' like which DLL and files its loading. I could see why you'd like to change that splashscreen while waiting.

    .

Dont ask mini why he is going mad.
I heard he made this splash screen

IMHO, the Xara's splash screen is probably less anoying then any other.
    And I like current design.
    Regards, Dmitry.
