Works for me Al. Sounds like a graphics card snafu?

By the way, here is a one pixel square at the maximum zoom, 25,601%.

    Hi Gary,

So... Is that 1 pixel with or without the black border?

You know John that would be like asking to find a Polar Bear in a snow storm. The only way you'd know he was there would be the yellow in the snow after he snuck up on you!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

He could have made a white pixel on a light grey background, then zoomed in and do a screen grab. Then it could be exactly 1 pixel X 25601%...

    So there... Phffft.... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

You got me back... Made me laugh this time...

I was using the clear 1x1 GIF as a spacer, in the manner Daniel explained, not as a web bug which is a version of JohnR's example.

Guess something in my system/installation is unique. If I ever track it down, I'll report in.

Thanks for confirming that XaraX1 is OK.

Actually Xara X was the problem. Despite the fact it was tricky to repeat (as you can see from the other posts) we found in some very unusual circumstances that it would error with a 1x1 pixel transparent GIF. Fixed now and fix will be in the next build (the CD version).

Well, this just gets more interesting!

I just logged on to report that, after upgrading my ATI Radeon video driver, my clear 1x1 GIF problem is curred. But here Charles is reporting that XaraX1 can be the cause.

Maybe video drivers are simply one of the factors in making this problem difficult to experience/verify.

At work I have been documenting a large hardware device used by Pharma companies doing drug discovery. Half of the work is software API and UI documentation so I've been enlisted to help with software QA. I might as well change my email address to al@bugzilla.com given how many bugs I've been reporting. Makes me admire and appreciate the relative perfection of XaraX1's release.

Al I would say that you are right about the 3rd assumption. Older video cards and drivers may be the cause of this under Xara X1. If Charles found the issue valid and fixed it then no worries!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
