Delete / copy / paste question

Please help me with the following problem (or is it by design?): If I copy an object in Xara Xtreme Pro, then delete something else, then when I press paste, the deleted object is pasted rather than what I had copied.

are you using cut to do the delete - because this will overide the copy and place the cut item on the clipboard - if so try using the keyboard delete key to delete the object

there is helpful stuff regarding basic operations in the xara movies and help files

I am doing the deleting with the keyboard or the delete button in Xara itself (the one with the red X). Not using cut to delete.

I have figured it out now. Thanks.
This happens when I use the backspace key to delete something. Sorry for troubling you.

Interesting discovery however. Backspace works like Ctrl x or Cut. Hmm?

yes I seem to remember finding that out when I first got xara - backspace being delete in painter which I was used to

always useful to have a keyboard option for things that need as few fingers as possible
