Default Xtreme sets a thin line around my banner...

    Hello,

i have searched for a solution but i have not found it.

    So here is my problem.

I want to create a banner.

I worked for the background with the rectangle-tool there i put all the content i like to add.

So in Xtreme it looks like this:

    http://www.visual-net.de/xar/graphic1.gif

Even when i say in xara that the 0.55 line (wich is exact the same colour as the rest of the pic) it should have no line -

It shows me always a thin line around my image - no matter in which format i save it (jpg/gif) it always looks like this when i add it in my webeditor (NetObjects Fusion):

    http://www.visual-net.de/xar/graphic2.gif

So what can i do to stop it that Xtreme sets a thin line around my graphic...

    Best regards
    Michael

Well even I face the same problem! Even if I select the line (border) color the same as the banner, I always end up getting the border line..
    Any solution to this??

It may be an anti aliasing problem in xara try tirning off anti alias- check this thread it may help
    http://talkgraphics.com/showthread.p...=anti+aliasing
Anti-aliasing improves the quality of on-screen images by inserting extra pixels of calculated colors around the edges of objects on screen. This has the effect of smoothing the edges and of appearing to improve the resolution of the display. Anti-aliasing only occurs when the Xara Xtreme Quality setting is at its highest level. For more details, see Changing the screen quality of documents.
    Also check Jedfrechette's post

Thanks for your hint, but it doesn't work for me.

I can set the Antialiasing from "Maintain screen-aliasing" to: "Minimise visible anti-aliasing" and then the line gets a bit thinner, but it is still there....

    Confusig regards

Did you see my additional info about Jedfrechette's post . here is the jist of it.

quote; vaguely seem to recall reading that the only way to completely stop Xtreme from anti-aliasing is to do something silly like drawing your image so that each line coresponds exactly to a pixel. To fix your problem I would simply crop off the couple of extra pixels that have been anti-aliased in a bitmap editor.

    Hello,

xtreme sets a thin line around a graphic try to do the same:

Create a rectangle put in there some content and then export it as a gif or whatever you want.

On the first view everything looks OK:

    http://www.visual-net.de/xar/detail1.gif

When you zoom in the window and go to the corners of the graphic you can see that xtreme sets automaticly a thin line around the graphic:

    http://www.visual-net.de/xar/detail2.gif

I changed the in xtreme the line for the outline from 0.55 pt to 0 but you can still see a line around the graphic on the left side:

    http://www.visual-net.de/xar/detail3.gif

So what can i do that xtreme will not set this thin line around my graphic or how can i make this, that this line is exact in the same colour like my graphic-bakground.

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

Tried that seems ok with me . As a last resort can you not crop off the edge?

    Hi Michael and xtremeone,

The answer is very simple - you've drawn your banner on a white background and so Xtreme anti-aliases the edge to white to make it smooth. (This is not so much use for a rectangular banner but comes into it's own when the outline shape is more complex.)

If you know your banner is going to appear on a certain colour on the web page then you should draw a rectangle of that colour behind your banner before you export the banner bitmap. A good way to do this is to draw the background rectangle on a layer behind the banner layer and mark that layer as "locked" so you don't accidentally select it when you export the banner.
