Always set the text on the bottom first, that is the trick. Then you can set the top. Or you can do it on separate circles or elipses. It is always best once the design is approved to convert to curves so that no matter what size the logo is then used, it scales properly and rotates properly.

Text may need to be flopped and the tool to do that appears as a little hand on the Property Bar.

How about clicking one of the mirror text buttons? I think you can move the text along the path by dragging the little red diamond marker that shows up when you click on the text with the pick tool. Don't have X3 here, only Draw 11 so I'm not sure if they changed anything.
    Here's a nice tutorial I found:

    I have Corel Draw 4 ... Yeah I know it's an antique.

It is easy to put text where you want, see the attached screen shot.

Key here is to click put text on other side and click the location icon, just above it (the bottom is shadowed in this case.)

if Corel Draw has regressed in this regard, then my bad.

But in Corel Draw 4 it was really easy.

As Corel had gone along the controls have moved around. The buttons controlling on which side of the line the text is on and from what direction it flows as well.

It is possible, you just are looking in the wrong place for the controls.

You could also look here and it helps to explain it. But fiddling with the tools and seeing what they do, and you'll figure it out.

You could also try reading what Corel has to say:

    Thanks for posting Sally!

I knew someone had upgraded Corel Draw since the 1990s.
