    Default Another alignment question

Sorry to bug you folks..I did search the forum, and found 4 non-related posts. I thought I'd seen this asked before...but here goes.

I have 2 seperate rectangles. I simply want to align the top left corner of one with the top right corner of the second one.

How to do this? I've wasted an hour on this and frustration abounds. Help files were no help and the alignment tool doesn't seem to allow aligning in this way. I know I'm missing something really easy.

    Any suggestions?

    Oh, Xara Extreme, not Pro.

    Thanks,

    I would use guides.
Make one horizontal, one vertical (just drag them out of the rulers).
Choose Snap to guides in the Window-Menu.
Then drag the left shape one with the right side to the verticel guide, the right shape with the left side to the guide.
The same with the horizontal guide.
This should help (I hope so...).
Have your fun NOW. Maybe tomorrow it's too late...

As with all things related to Xara X and it's progeny there are more than one way to do things.

If you select Snap to Objects from the Window Menu (or use the * on the numeric keypad) you can have the rectangles snap to each other.

Click on one of the rectangle near the corner you want to snap to the other's corner. Drag the rectangle to the other, the sides will snap together then drag up or down as needed and the corners with snap together.

Thank-you both for the timely replies. Both suggestions work great. Frustration levels are manageable now:-)
