I downloaded xara x1 but I still prefer the original xara x gui http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif The new buttons were neat but I felt they were a bit too colorful for my tastes.

Anyway, my question is what will happen to xara x (classic)?

    Hi Clif,

Most likely, it will be supported for about 10 times longer than microsoft supports there old stuff. In geological time... in less than a blink of an eye it will go the way of DOS.

It might be worth Charles and Co. consideration to have an option to run the program with the "new look" or the "old look" for those that wish it so. Personally for me I think the new look is 'da bomb!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

No...I used Corel Xara after it expired and XaraX took over the forum for oh...4 years I think, well it was a long time after the X appeared, Then for absolutely no reason I upgraded to Xara X. No I take that back, it was those cool lines (strokes) that I could draw freehand that made me do it.

Well, I guess there could be some concern that a service pack or an OS update makes it tricky (or impossible) to run it in the future... But as Mike put it (but a bit differently http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif ) just because newer code is released, it doesn't make older releases useless. In some apps. the older releases are actually better... look at Adobe Illustrator... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
