Unhappy From Xara to Dreamweaver or Flash

    Hi guys,

Been playing around creating lots of graphics in Xara Xtreme... how do I get them to Dreamweaver, Flash... etc...

What is the easiest highest quality way?

If this has been covered in other threads please lead me to them

    Greetings...

Xtreme Pro has some wonderful ability to do Flash. Like a lot of users, I am having a barrell of fun with this.

Check the Xtreme Pro Flash forum and get an idea about what we are all doing.

I know! I'm just pondering the possibilities and they look great, but for my regular "still" images... do I have to export them as a PNG and then import them? I would love to "copy-paste" in to Macromedias... sorry, Adobe applications...

For a still image, a PNG or JPEG is, unfortunately, the only way. Dreamweaver can't import XAR files directly...LOL

But the Flash files generated by Xtreme Pro go into the web pages just like those generated by Macromedia.

I don't know about DreamWeaver, but you should be able to export your graphic as a SWF file from the export menu, and then import that into flash. Not everything comes across if you use features of Xara that Flash has no parellel for (I don't use flash, so I don't know what those are, but it's something to look out for).

Perhaps you can cross reference the list of formats that DreamWeaver can import against the list of formats that Xtreme can export, and find a vector format that they both share. That could be a way to get vector information into DreamWeaver.

    Will and Odat are right
    JPEG, PNG, GIF for dreamweaver
    SWF for Flash

Note Flash will not handle some things that Xara will do but some things you can get around.
