Default Can't get the panorama to work

    I've followed Egg and Sally's guidance - i.e.

Created a panarama from a number of photos
    Exported as a PNG
Imported the PNG into Xara Pro - new animation
    Created a clip view
Copied the frame and moved the background

But when I preview all I get is the static clipping frame

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Keith, I undid your clipview, then ran it, and you didn't actually get a static clipping frame. You had a solid blue bar that did, in fact, pan through your clipping frame.

You had some extra names, too, which didn't seem to have any function.

I copied your image to a new animation, then copied your rounded rectgangle, and it seems to work fine.

I didn't use clipview, so you can see the image actually move.

Beautiful panorama, by the way! What a peaceful looking scene.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Will

I've re-instated the clip view and it works fine. (swf attached)

Still don't know why it didn't before!

It's a small resort in northern Corfu called Arillas - yes it is very peaceful.

This is a view of the cove from the end of the jetty.

I think it must have had something to do with the fact that you had two names which both showed up when I clicked the image. Don't know why that would do it, but it's the only thing I can think of.

Really looks lovely. I'm going to get inspired and take a series of pics at my favorite scenic place here in Miami. I am a member of Fairchild Tropical Gardens, and it is a wonderfully landscaped collection of tropical plants, all carefully laid out so that in any given area, the plants are all from the same area, creating vistas which would have been typical in a number of different tropical areas. The next time I go there, I'll have to take my tripod.

    lovely setting.
    nice job!

I am working on my 5th one now!

A small one that I did this weekend only had 7 images. It isn't very special but I did use it to test the panorama effect AND added fading text together to identify two areas of the picture in the first sweep, with a plain back sweep without text.

Basic steps for the panorama that I posted on earlier thread:
    - Used clipview to create a cropped image and exported as PNG.
    - Then brought that PNG into frame 1 of my flash.
    - Applied a rectangle clipview.
    - Copied frame twice.
    - 2nd frame I moved the long image all the way to the other side.
    - Adjusted frame rate to 20 seconds on frame 1 and 2
    - Adjusted frame rate to 0 for frame 3

But to do the fading in and out of text I had to add more frames to accomplish that. Use the WIREFRAME setting to see the text that is faded out.

You can see the design file here if you want to see that effect: http://www.samisite.com/germany/loggingroad.htm
and I uploaded the xar file for reference

Samantha, these panoramic views are addictive...

I really like the effect of pausing to label a scene before moving on!

HERE'S a 360 degree one I did several years ago now. I just created the text and arrows onto the png and created a new png.

What I like about these types of panorama is that you don't get the awful fish-eye effect that you get with those specialist cameras. It also helps if the photos are taken around noon and a sunny day (These weren't!)

The lack of fisheye effect is what impressed me too.

Wonderful view. The labeling made it more interesting for the visitor to know what they are seeing. Cool player window. Like the radar-like view that also helps to show the visitor where they are. What program did you use to build the flash?

    Samantha,

Thanks, I created the panorama several years ago now. All the graphics were done in XrarX1 and the swf file was created in Flash4.

Egg, this is amazing. The panorama alone would have been impressive, but the addes touches are pure genious. The view window is cool, but the radar-like effect in the revolving map, complete with the transparent revolving sweep effect and the revolving needle to match the view on the lower right...

    I am awestruck!
