My first Flash Export...

I never really played with the Flash export feature during the beta preview. Now that I've paid for Pro I figured that I'd better start using this new major feature.

The attachment is my first go. It features fades between three bitmaps. I wish it could support more than just mix transparency as a stained glass one would likely be very useful.

I don't know if this info is any use Ross. I used stained glass on the rectangle with a 50% transparency applied.

Are you sure about the stained glass transparency? I think it switches it to a mix transparency. By default it will give you an alert that stained glass transparency can't be used -- I think it is one of those alerts that you can check to not have it display any more. Perhaps you told it you didn't want to see the error??

Very impressive renderings there Ross. You're correct, Flash only handles mix transparency. Any other type is just imported as Mix.

You are probably right Ross I tend to ignore these warnings as it semed to work as drawn. I do like your trike drawing though.Hold on I checked it again and saved under another name there were no warnings at all. try it for yourself

When I open your xar file all the rectangles have a Mix transparency. There's no Stained Glass transparency in the file.

Transparencies are converted to mix when exported to a .swf file.

The two cyan ellipses are transparent over a red rectangle.

In the work area the portions over the rectangle are medium gray for mix trans. and deep red (blood red) for stained glass trans.

When exported to .swf both become mix transparency.

How do I view one? I have both Flash & Shockwave browser plugins installed & am running Firefox 2 but nothing happens when I click on an swf??

I find it easier to use a standalone swf viewer. There are several around. In fact, there was a recent thread about them. The one I use is Swiff Player. http://www.globfx.com/products/swfplayer/
