    Default Vintage Radio dial...

I want to do a vintage radio dial as the main graphic for a menu in a website... I was thinking of flash so that is not a loop or a clunky jump from image to image...

Can it be done in XXP? I can only do "start-to-finish" little flash movies how do I seamlessly make it respond to mouse selection but not looping?

any ideas or do I really have to go in FLASH and develop it?

I'm not a flash pro by any means, but if you want certian elements of your drawing to respond to your mouse (using flash) then you will have to script it in flash.

I don't recall what the code in flash is, but I know that you can read the mouse position an make elements respond to that position.

I hope that gets you further along.

First off, here's a few things you need to know if yo don't already.

The animatiom automaticially goes from frame to frame, so, you need to stop it, right?

To stop the animation at a specific frame, add
    ;stop to the frame's name

F'rinstance, if you want to stop on frame #1 (and you would, if you want a clickable button on frame #1 to start the animation) then rename:

Frame 1 to Frame 1 ;stop

If you want a frame to lead to a frame other than the next in sequence then add ;goto

F'rinstance, if you want Frame 7 to follow on from Frame 4 then rename:

    Frame 4 toFrame 4 ;goto frame 7

Any object can be made clickable - right click on it and from the resulting drop-down menu select
    web address.

You can enter in any url, or if you want the user to go to a specific frame when clicking the object, enter the frame name as in
Frame 3 while at the same time, in the box Target frame for url, enter _frame

The radio .xar file is attached for your consideration ...

    Great explanation, and animating.

You could revamp your Propaganda Radio to do similar stuff if you wanted to direct people to Mental Terrorist or even you new radio show. Could give the times and dates, for example in the links.
Every day's a new day, "draw" on what you've learned.

    I really don't know.
Flash makes my brain hurt - Xara doesn't.
    Ergo, I use Xara.

Thank you Sally. (Nice of you to pop in during your lunch break)
    I enjoy solving these queries.
Prevents the grey stuff from atrophying completely.

That is not a bad idea ... I'll have a think about it.
Not that I particularly want to advertise American Voice Radio - just my weekly slot >grin<
