During a recent vacation, in a few locations I took images that if laid end to end, top to bottom could create a larger, panarama style image.
Tried a panarama software that could only do a single layer. Ok results but I have images that need to be added in vertically for best results. Then tried a couple other photo programs. All stitched the pictures but didn't look the way I could see it in my head. Didn't have a tripod with me so the images were not exactly lined up.
As a final thought, I opened Xara Xtreme (still a novice with it so it did not immediately come to mind for the project). Threw 3 images into a project and was QUICKLY able to overlay them nicely. Added more and in the end, one of the panoramas I made has 21 separate shots and shows a 180 degree view. I adjusted some of the brightness/contrast to purposely create an uneven collage look to the final image. Even though the overlay is not perfect in some places, the result is very pleasing. Will be tweaking it a bit more then I'll print the final image on a 11x17 slick paper and may even get it framed!
The more I work with Xara Xtreme Pro, the more I like it.
Thanks guys for making such a FUN program! It's addictive.
