Default Pumpkin carving - Darth Vader

Carved your pumpkin yet? I did. Made one with Darth Vader! Turned out pretty good.

    Put a clip on YouTube.

A great idea Bob -and the end result is just perfect!
It could unnerve someone coming across it in the dark.

Well Done!! The pumpkin and the video are excellent.

Did you use any special tools? When I've tried making detail carvings a slip of the knife causes irrepairable damage.

Try using a scalpel, very controllable .. can use it almost like a pen.
You can become very proficient with it in a short time.

Thanks Raymond. Scalpels are not easily found where I live. May have to make a trip to Nashville.

Bob, great job on the pumpkin! I was surprised to see the pumpkin right near your keyboard. I would be afraid of getting pumpkin juice and slime anywhere near my computer.
You are another person with an excellent voice. I even detect some type of accent there. What is it?

Awesome job...even before you put the two flashing lights inside. When the lights went out...WOW!

My pumpkin carvings are never that ambitious. For me, they are just an excuse to buy the pumpkin and make pie.

I used a little pumpkin carving knife, sort of looks like a small jigsaw blade but with a handle. The carving was done on the dining room table. I only brought the pumpkin up on the desk for the clip.

This was the first time I carved a pumpkin this detailed, previous ones were less complex. Ones where I would just draw on the pumpkin then carve it out.

Thanks, Bob. An accent on my voice? I dunno, do Canadians have accents?
