The way I do 3D boxes is I work on the box artwork for the Xara product in flat form then.... send it to someone else in Xara and ask them to boxify it. Okay, I cheat.

I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.
You'd think by now you of all people would know how to use the Mould tool
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
They're going to kill me anyway and I'd love to die the way I lived:
Avoiding Manual Labour.
Let's have a look at the most recent one that you did then Anthony, the one that's ready to go online later this month...

There is an action script that creates some really nice looking software boxes. It is free, and it only requires that you have Adobe Photoshop installed.
Check it out here:

Something like this?
Could be you're wasting your time using Xara - suggest you have a look at eCover Studio. If you only have one box to make you could use their free trial. The above were produced in 2 minutes including rendering time. I use their software to make graphics of my books for promtion work (like this):

You can produce them in any rotation, with or without shadows, etc. I tried to emulate the above in Xara and gave up after 20 minutes. Sometimes it pays not to bang your head against a brick wall
