    Yes Raymond I agree, in any other medium the black background shows but in Xtreme it doesn't. I don't know what the accompanying attachment proves or disproves except it was produced in Xtreme using Bob's transparent bit map pasted over my picture. You will notice when shown in browser the black background has not been carried over either to xtreme or browser so where has it gone the black I mean. I think I'll go and lie down hee hee

    Well, this is a funny bug in the export filter for bmp files.

    In an uncompressed bmp-File each pixel consists of four bytes. 3 Bytes for the color components: one for red, blue an green and the fourth always set to zero.

    This export filter alows for 32-Bit(!) color so the fourth byte is used for color information. In your file it is always set to "FF".

    Xara Xtreme interprets this as an transperency value (Alpha Channel) and so you get an transparent background.

    So you have produces an invalid - but funny - bmp-File.
