Xara Xtreme / Xara X1

i was sent the newsletter last week and read about X1 which i assumed was the upgrade to Xtreme.... so i bought it thinkin that as a recent buyer of Xtreme i was being given a rebate.....
is it true that i have been sucked in and purchased an old version????
if so i won't be happy.......

This does appear to be the fact.

XaraX and Xara X1 came before Xara Xtreme.

You've not been "sucked in" to anything. The email pointed out that X1 was an old version of Xtreme, and the order page says the following:

Should I purchase Xara X¹ if I own Xtreme?
As Xtreme is the newer version of Xara X¹ it is not recommended that you purchase Xara X¹ if you already own Xtreme.

Can't get clearer than that.

But if you made a mistake and don't want the software anymore, just open a ticket to sales at http://www.xara.com/contact.asp and ask for a refund.

I actually read the small print, and opted to buy X1 anyway, since Xtreme does not come with the Pantone information. This seemed like a good way to obtain the Pantone at a VERY reasonable price. Haven't used it yet, so I'm hoping I didn't outsmart myself...

Me too! Couldn't resist X1 at $19.95 even though I have Xtreme. I've played around with it and definitely think it's worth it.

I purchased the XARA 1, Is there an upgrade price to EXTREME?
(Cant see anything on the website to confirm it)
I also wanted to purchase 3D6, maybe they`ll offer small discount?
I opened a ticket but the response is slow understandably their busy.

I'm not sure if there is still an upgrade offer in effect. When Xtreme was initially released there was a discount to upgrade, but that was about a year ago.
