You have done it most perfectly. Now all it lacks is bling. Highlights.

Thanks. It isn't accurate by any means.
For illustration purpose it is passable.
So long as the wheels are on the small side

    Thank you Sally.
Now I know what is bling - been wondering about that.

So - we have blings in hair and film/play blings.

I guess a lighthouse has one also ...

    Mini-spoke tutorial, very good.

Reflections on a beveld ring whose angle points into the middle will best use a conical fill. Depending upon the environment you set the chrome in, if you have blue sky, that will reflect on the chrome, if you have green grass or earth, this environment will reflect also. Remove some of the shine factor, too much looks artificial too, so that what is really bright therefore gains the attention.

And gorilla bling on the leading edge about at 40 degrees up from the center line of the wheel on the left side is frequently used as a light source. This is when light would come over the viewers shoulder.

Once the wheel is in place on the car, the shadow the car may cast on the wheel may make the bling lower down. There could be a shadow also on the chrome with the sun at the described angle on the upper consisting of an arc with rounded ends and given a bit of soft feathering.

    Parahandy,

This is a little bit tricky to figure out even with the Xara movie that explains it but it isn't difficult.

First create a star using the quick shapes tool
Then click on the Shape Editor tool and then the quick shapes tool again.
You can now edit the shape by grabing a node closer to the center of the star and pulling it closer to the center. Doing that will bring all of the center nodes closer to the center and you can quickly create the spokes from the star.

You may also be interested to know that you can bend the lines of the star in this mode and all of the arms of the star will follow suit.

If you would like to edit a single arm of a star, convert the star to an editable shape [Arange Menu / Convert to Editable Shapes] and then use the shape editor tool to edit individual points.

    I hope that helps.

    Eric
