motion blur...???

Hello All. Using PSP X can anyone tell me how to add a motion blur type effect for a football poster that I am making. I tried the motion blur at 90 degrees and 100%, but it did not "streak" enough to give me the effect of the player zooming cross the field and blurring out into the background. I tried "smear", but it jut kept adding a new layer that had no effect. Any help appreciated. Thanks...

Try selecting an area with the freehand lasso tool. then go to effects add noise then go to effects blur motion blur or try useing varios airbrushes sponge brushes to add pixels of a certain color to acheive the same effect.
