    Default import a text?

    Hello,
Is there a way to import a piece of text as a text in XARALX from an editor or a word processor with cut and paste or via a file.
    Thanks.

    Hi PFX,

I've tried several different text editors and cannot copy and paste into Xara Xtreme for Linux.

This must be one of the things the developers are still working on.

Copy and paste to external applications doesn't work (yet). Looks like straight text import doesn't work either. And because we trap the middle button, X Windows clipboard paste doesn't even work. How very annoying. Looks like we should fix at least one of these ASAP.

+ actually there is a way... however, I'd recommend using XaraLX's
excellent text feature above anything else I've seen... you can size
it, and edit it... if all you need is annotations for a drawing, this is
    just what it's for.
The other way I've tried is importing text as a PDF... this works fine
in the latest XaraLX... BUT... imported PDF text is [not] vector any
longer after importing... go figure :-) So... for a quick block of
formatted text, use a PDF... if you need scalable text, use the built
in text feature. My two cents worth.

Well, even though I wrote the PDF import feature, it's no real substitute for a way of getting text in. It imports it as a bitmap. We need to fix this properly. I filed a P1 bug.

. That would be a great improvement to an already excellent XaraLX !
