Default Access Violation, can't save any .xar!

I am getting an access violation at offset 0x7B9002B4

I get this error when I atempt to save my work to a .xar file. This happens with any file; existing files and newly created files.

Exporting is working I've tested going out to .jpg, .pdf and a few others

I uninstalled, rebooted....reinstalled from disk, rebooted. Still getting the same error. Installed the Patch F, rebooted still getting the error.

System is WinXp Professional fully updated
    1GB Ram, 3.06 P4
No other software is running other than Symantec Internet Security

Was working fine a month ago. (last time I used Xara)
I guess I've been lucky up to this point I've run Xara for years and alway viewed it as one of the most reliable items on my machine.

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

    An update on my problem.

I tried uninstalling again, then went thru the registry and removed any link I could find refering to Xara. I then reinstalled...sadly without success. Applied the latest patch....no joy.

I get the exact same error number shown above. I can still export, including exporting to .web, but cannot save my work as a .xar file.

I had a similar problem with another program lately. In my case, I could not save files in that program (The GIMP) while I had CompuPic open. Maybe another program that is running is your problem.
