Problem solved! I tried running CorelDRAW and got a different error message, something about MSXML4 not being installed. A net search led me to a thread here on TalkGraphics -- http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=19643 -- in which WebStyle was generating the same error. Thanks to a response from Daniel providing a link to download the offending code, which I did, both CorelDRAW and Xara now load.
