Having Problems With Xara Xtreme

Hi all,

having problems with the plugins Button on Xara, it just keeps locking up.

did a complete uninstall and reinstalled it and now it's telling me it cannot find XPE

I'm on my 4th reinstall now and working for a deadline at midnight tonight
7 hours left

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robbie,

When did you first start having the lock up problem? Was it after you had changed something (e.g. adding plugins or upgrading Xtreme)?

Can it now find XPE after your last re-install? Have you re-installed into the same folder each time?

If your Xtreme still can't find XPE try going into the Xtreme folder (typically C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Xtreme\) then go into the Xara Picture Editor folder inside that and run XPE directly by double-clicking XaraPictureEditor.exe. Doing this will ensure that it is registered correctly.

Make sure that XPE runs OK then close it, start Xtreme again and see whether that has fixed the problem.

I Had the Same Problem a while back with mine ....I just Kept Un-installing and Re-installing and One day like magic it Worked ...I figured it had to do with my computer!

i tried that, still no joy,

it started to happen intermittently this week.

i'll keep trying.

Here are some steps to cleanup a Xara Xtreme installation and do a new clean installation. This solution works very well for another user with similar problems.
